Applications
Portable Lighting Systems: Emergency lights, searchlights, lanterns.
High-Drain Portable Devices: Electric toys, portable radios/audio equipment.
Professional and Consumer Electronics: Various devices requiring durable and reliable D-cell power.
Warnings & Precautions
Quick Charge: 1500 mA (0.3C) for 4-6 hours. Monitor temperature.
Fast Charge: Up to 7500 mA (1.5C) for approximately 1 hour. Must use a charger with advanced termination methods (-ΔV, dT/dt, or timer control) to prevent overcharging and damage.
Charge Temperature: Charge between 0°C and 45°C (32°F to 113°F). Avoid charging in very cold or hot environments.
Discharging
Avoid deep discharge below this voltage whenever possible, especially for prolonged periods, as it can stress the battery.
Initial Use
Important Precautions
Temperature Management: Do not charge batteries that are excessively hot or cold. Allow them to reach room temperature first. Never immerse a hot flashlight/battery in cold water.
Battery Orientation: When installing in a device, ensure the positive (+) and negative (-) terminals are aligned correctly. Incorrect installation can prevent operation and potentially cause damage.
Storage: For long-term storage (longer than a few months), store the battery in a cool, dry place, preferably at a low state of charge (around 40%). Storing them fully charged or fully discharged for extended periods can be detrimental. The recommended storage temperature is below 35°C (95°F).
Ventilation: Charge in a well-ventilated area. Although sealed, extreme overcharging could potentially cause venting.
Disposal: Nickel-Cadmium batteries contain toxic materials (Cadmium). DO NOT dispose of them with household waste. Recycle responsibly at designated battery recycling points.
Physical Damage: Do not crush, puncture, short-circuit, or dismantle the battery. This can lead to leakage, overheating, or rupture.
Immediately discontinue use if the battery shows signs of deformation, leakage, or unusual overheating.
